The first week I worked as a chaplain at Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles I was taking look at Chapel at the mission. As I was standing there my good friend and fellow chaplain was with me. I said to him ” Ron, I don’t believe I get paid to do this job. I would do it for nothing if I could afford it,
A decade later I was the President an CEO of the mission. I kept my name plaque saying “George Caywood Chaplain” on my desk. My boss Board Chairman, Burton Currie. came in my office one day noticed my desk Plaque and said ” The best job you ever had”.
I nodded my head in fervent agreement fervently. I was CEO which I am sure was God’s will for my life but I sorely missed the contact with the daily street people being a chaplain gave me.
