Years ago one of my daughters asked me if I was a sexist. I thought that was a great question coming from a girl so young.
I knew it was an important moment in my fathering she was sure to tell her sisters what I said and because the question had broad implications to issues like racism.
My Answer was “I don’t think that any male raised in America could be completely sure that sexism absolutely was not in his makeup. However I could promise her that any time I saw it I would immediately deal with it.” That answer seemed to be a good one to her. I was grateful.
