Not long ago I was talking to a good friend. He asked me if there was one area of knowledge in which I was an expert what would it be. I immediately answered ” I am a world class expert in one area. I know the things that do not work. That is because every foolish, dishonest, lustful, arrogant mistake that could be made I have made a thousand times.”
When I was working on skidrow in LA I offered to hear their 4th. step in which it is suggested mthat “We admitted to God, ourselves and another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.” A few dozen people wanted to take the 4th Step with with me. I always told them if you tell me something you did that I had not done or thought of doing I would take them doewn the street and buy them a chocolate malt”. I never had to buy anyone a malt.
There are some advantages to being 77. That is one of them.
